What PC games can I play in the lounge and what hardware do I need to buy?

I am trying to get back into Gaming. I have not really played a computer game since the Nintendo 64 (Goldeneye). I played this game recently and it was easy and intuitive 21 years on.
I bought a Steam box in 2016 so I can play PC games in the lounge. I bought 'call of duty' in 2016. I tried playing it in the lounge at the time, however it is very difficult with the standard steam controller (https://store.steampowered.com/app/353370/Steam_Controller/). Using the mouse on the controller to aim is extremely difficult i.e. the aim move all over the place - I have made a little progress on the game though. I tried playing the game on my PC using my mouse and keyboard and it was better. What PC games can I play in the lounge and what hardware do I need to buy?

You can play any pc game in the lounge.
I've heard that the steam controller is difficult to get used to at first. If your aim is moving all over the place, try lowering the sensitivity. If you haven't really games in that long, your aim is going to be off (especially playing on PC with mouse users). Just keep trying and you will improve.0 -
I have a wired xbox 360 controller plugged into my steam link. Much more comfortable for playing 1st person shooters. I am probably in the minority, but I also love playing stardew valley and terraria in such a way too. Keyboard and mouse in the living room is just a hassle tbh.

We've got a Switch (the full one, not lite) in the living room. Sometimes we play a game through the TV together and other times one of us plays on it as a handheld console individually.1

Requires 16G ram, 8G graphics card, a good power supply, 512G solid-state hard drive, and I7 processor. The monitor needs to be 21-inch for gaming, it’s noisy to dissipate air cooling, but you if you want to save money, just forget the water cooling.
