Dear Mr Lewis
i had bad credit in the past I lost my house in crash of 2008/9 I was too embarrassed to ask my family for help. I met a broker who told me I should be able to get a mortgage based upon my salary £108K per year and a very good pension. I applied and was told I needed £15k deposit which I had, then we had lockdown and as it eased I found a house then was told I needed 30k which I managed
i found another house and have now been told I need 50k! Which I don’t have. Why is it that banks can make mistakes and lose millions of the public’s money but individuals can never leave their credit behind? Even prisoners rehabilitate
i have a secure job I’m appointed do would probably have to murder someone to lose my job and my salary is guaranteed with 2% raises

my pension when I retire at 79 yrs old will be about 40k per year which is more than I was earning years ago
are they allowed to keep upping the ante? I’m probably one of the surest bets in these times and yet I’m deemed more risky because of what happened 10 years ago
have you any advice does anyone know of lenders who do take personal factors into consideration? I don’t want to spend all my pension on renting when I retire

The repossession will not be helping you.
How much did you owe on the mortgage and has that been paid off now?

What other things are showing on your credit history?

Have you been bankrupt, had an IVA or anything? If so, when and when were you discharged.

Where did you find your broker as it doesn't sound like he is doing you any favours.

Many of us get mortgages after financial issues, but we use a good broker who places us with the right lender for our circumstances.
Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.
