Two jobs at same time
Is student loan payable on the 2nd job? When I use salary calculator (www.thesalarycalculator.co.uk) it does not show any deductions for student loan repayments on the 2nd job? I understand that is because the 2nd job is under the threshold. Apparently that is OK unless you have to fill out a self assessment for HMRC - in what scenarios would I be asked to fill out a self assessment?

You have to fill out a self-assessment if you are self-employed, like me.
All the information you need is here : https://www.gov.uk/repaying-your-student-loan/what-you-pay - for both Plan 1 and Plan 2.
HMRC will automatically start taking your repayments if your salary goes over the threshold.

It's a lot more complicated than the other idiot told you about, he routinely fails to read or understand anything.naf123 said:Is student loan payable on the 2nd job? Thank you - very useful...I did see that but wanted to double check HMRC aren't going to ask me to do self assessments even if both jobs are on PAYE - I do not have any other source of income. It does look like that self assessment is only for other income.Yahoo_Mail said:
