Tesco’s Xmas Saver Bonus

I visited my local Tesco store earlier today in order to add £250 to the Xmas Saving Scheme so as to benefit from the £12 bonus, but I can tell you it wasn’t worth the hassle! It took half an hour, four different staff members at the Customer Service counter and them making a number of phone calls to other staff as no one seemed to know how to add that amount to my Tesco Clubcard. At one point it became farcical with them suggesting that I needed to purchase 250 Xmas Club stamps, which they said I could only do by feeding £1 coins into a machine to the value I needed! In the end they were finally given the correct information and all it needed was someone to scan my club card, enter the amount of £250 into their system, which was linked to a card machine, and I made the payment using my debit card. What an absolute faff! At least the staff members were very nice, they did apologise for the time it took and thanked me for my patience. I am left feeling that the staff need more training in order to be able to respond to straight forward processes; the drawn out experience was not worth the benefit!
