Great things are said about toasters, the colour, design, outside size, 2 slots or 4, colour of toast even but they never mention the actual slot size.
I am looking for a toaster that will take a slice from any one of the many 'toastie' sized loafs that are on the market, the loaf I buy has a slice that measures 15cm x 12cm and so far I have tried 3 toasters that fail to take that size, well one did but it is described as a 4 slice machine but to do 4 slices you need to stand them on their end to get them all in and there is still 2cm sticking up when the lever is at the bottom, it will do 2 slices OK when laid on their side.
Any suggestions for a toaster under £20 that will take a toastie slice of bread with nothing sticking up.

Found one in Argos but had to pay £24.99 for a 2 slice toaster, at least it takes and toast a toastie slice0

Does it fit if you cut the slice in half?0

I wouldn't know, it's not something I ever do.0

Give it a go - there's a first time for everything! You'd normally cut the slice before eating it, so why not before toasting it?1
