I am looking to get a second opinion on a dental work quotation. How does one go about requesting a copy of their dental x-rays?Is there a fee?I read somewhere that dentists are not allowed to charge under Section 15 GDPR regulations?

I think a small fee is allowable. Something that would reasonably cover costs involved?
Bear in mind that no 2 dentists will agree absolutely on a treatment plan, as there is rarely only one 'right' way to approach any particular mouth, depending on what the patient actually wants doing. Getting more opinions might just confuse you more.
If you profoundly disagree with what one particular dentist has told you though - you may well find a different one with a treatment plan more acceptable to you. It needn't necessarily mean the first one was wrong though!
How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
Actually actually if it is a digital x Ray a paper copy or email copy would be free of charge. If it is a film or complex scan like a ct then a charge can be made to cover the cost of duplicating .0
