This is getting silly now....
After waiting nearly 12 weeks for my (straight forward as they come) mortgage offer, I was notified by Mortgage Advisor on 9th October it was going to offer. On 13th October she e-mailed me a digital copy, on 14th October, a physical copy arrived. That night I e-mailed my solicitor to let her know I've received my copy (and assuming she'd received hers) and floated a completion date.
I got an out of office reply, she's back today.
Friday I got a call from Estate Agent. He'd been speaking to my solicitors assistant who said everything is good to go and that they were just waiting to "download " their copy of my Mortgage offer.
I was told that exchange of contracts could happen this week.
Fast forward to today, I get an email from solicitor saying she hasn't received her copy.
Anyone know why? My solicitors details in the offer are a DX address
How long does it take for the solicitors to get their copy? Surely they're sent out at the same time as my copy?

The lenders are co op / platform.

  • My lender got my mortgage offer a couple of days after I got my copy.  Not sure why, but my solicitors wasn't phased and says it often happens that way.  Maybe DX is a bit slower (although it doesn't tend to be) or just less people in the office to sort the mail.  Could be anything but I wouldn't stress yet.

Thank You. I was hoping to exchange this week, though!
  • Can your solicitor not get in touch with your lender to get them to send an email copy?  Exchange this week will still be possible I should imagine.

That’s what they’re doing. I’ve had to send solicitor my own copy for them to contact platform.
Thought the solicitor pack contains the official docs that need signing which is why it’s being posted to solicitor?Solicitor will then send the docs in the post to me, along with contracts, to sign everything at once.

It does contain the official doc that needs signing but if they had an email copy in the first instance they could check the documentation etc and then hopefully they'll still get it in time to send to you for signing.  I'm sure it'll all be fine :)
  • Thank you, lets hope so.

What I really don't understand at all is why Platform haven't sent out the solicitor copy? The issue date was the 9th and I recieved my paper copy nearly a week ago.

Why the delay? Why not send everything to everyone at the same time?
  • The reason the solicitor hasn't got her copy is because Platform put the wrong details! Absolutely fuming
