Hi folks, have been in the processing of sorting out previous debts and what not for a long time now. Without getting into my life story as to why or what happened that I ended up in this situation I'd like some advice and help please.
One of these was a payday loan with MYJAR which I originally took out on 01/05/2015. MyJar recorded a default on 13/01/2018. The amount I owed was £452 according to my credit files. I entered a payment plan with them in July this year to pay this off over a few months. I called them to confirm the amount I owed and to set the plan up and was informed over the phone that there was a balance of £447 and I agreed to pay this off over 3 monthly payments. I received a letter via e-mail confirming this plan however the letter stated that they accepted my offer of 'reduced payments towards outstanding balance of £447'. I was happy to pay the complete amount I owed and at no point in that phone conversation or e-mail conversations did I offer to pay reduce monthly payments. The letter goes on to say the total to repay is £406 and gives me the dates my card will debited.
The last of these payments completed at the start of October. I have since contacted MyJar via e-mail and their online contact page to confirm that my account is now closed and they will update my credit file and have yet to receive a response. They haven't updated any of my credit files since the original default in 2018 and I am growing concerned that now I have paid this debt that they won't update this. The last correspondence I received from the company was an e-mail the day before my last payment was due. I am aware that credit files can take a couple of months to update and of course the current situation in the world but for my own peace of mind more than anything I'd like them to confirm in writing either via e-mail or in person via a letter that I owe them nothing and that my account has been closed and credit files updated. Should I call them over the week or will I give it more time?
My next one was a defaulted payday loan from 24/7 Moneybox to the sum of £273. I entered a payment plan with them last month to clear the balance off in the next 3 months however I have recently just found out that they are in fact in administration. Again I am of course happy to pay what I owe but I am concerned as to when the balance is cleared at the end of November they won't update my credit file due to the administration. Never seen a situation like this so if someone can shed some clarity.
And lastly, this one is for a credit card which was passed to a debt collection company Hoist Portfolio 1. I had been trying to contact this company via letter/e-mail and telephone since January and they only responded in July! The response states "we can now advise you that we have closed this account on our files due to the account being statute barred". They go on to say "Please note in relation to your credit file, although you are no longer obligated to make any payments towards the debt, the entry will remain on your credit file until the standard 6 years has passed. We can confirm that the entry will automatically drop off on 15/04/2021." Okay fine, so not alot I can do apart from wait that out. However upon checking my report on CreditKarma last week, I can see that the balance of this account has reduced from the original amount of £649 to £461. If this account is statue barred and so on, why has the balance reduced? I am confused.
Thanks in advance for any help. Ways to go, but will officially be debt free (vehicle aside) by the end of the year, then it's onto saving up!

Raise a complaint about your credit file not been updated, they have 8 weeks to issue a final responce, if you remain unhappy, escalate to the ICO.COVID-19 causing lots of problems due to staff working from home.If the debt is statute barred then it make no difference what the balance is, however they say its not due to drop off your file till next year, the limitations period is 6 years, so how can it be statute barred ???? or are you in Scotland ?I`d leave that one well alone if i were you.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
