Mortgage offer

Options
Hi guys I just got my mortgage offer from the same bank which I had default credit card account with, the default was removed from my credit file in 2018, it is no longer in my credit file, I m just bit nervous what if the bank withdraw the offer last minute before exchange, my broker is telling me not to worry as bank issued you offer after making all satisfactory checks,  he said that they wouldn’t have offer you if the default was still showing in their records, it been more than 8 years for that default account, can anyone advise me please?

You are worrying unnecessarily. To have an offer withdrawn would require something material to come to light. That the lender was previously totally unaware of.

That is what I m worried about what if they find out last minute that I had default account with them, which is no longer on my credit file, a friend told me bank sometimes keep internal records even after 6 years, I m losing my sleep over it

They would have already checked this prior to making you an offer. Particularly if it was there own internal records.

  • To withdraw an offer something needs to come to light that has HAPPENED RECENTLY AND AFTER THEY DID THEIR CHECKS. Like new loans you applied for, changing jobs, leaving jobs, running up new credit cards.
not 8 year old historical debts, all cleared and sorted and fully available when they did their checks
    Relax and stop worrying

Hi, I hope the Op does not mind me posting this here but I have just had a mortgage offer issued by HSBC, well within affordability and the next day (due to a teenager) on my bank account (with the lender) there were about 500 quids worth of small gambling transactions. I am worried that this will be flagged before completion? Any advice?
