Deeds of consent

Options
Hi all.
We have just been given our mortgage offer, woohoo, and one of the conditions is that our 17 year old daughter signs a deed of consent.
We are first time buyers and have no idea what this actually means!!!!
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thankyou

It's just her acknowledging that you're granting a mortgage over the property she lives in, and she's not going to kick up a fuss if the bank repossess.
  • Fab, thankyou! Thats great. Needed it to be put into a plain language to understand. Makes sense i suppose!
    Thankyou again 🤪

That your daughter has no financial interest or claim to the property. In the event of repossession she has no legal grounds to delay proceedings.
  • Thankyou, thats great! Good to know.
