Has anyone been waiting an absurd amount of weeks for a mortgage offer?? I had a broker give in a mortgage application to natwest 11 weeks ago. The broker says he is chasing them up all the time and iv rang natwest a few times. They keep saying they are reviewing it and they hav asked for even more payslips. I know its not happenig with all applications bcuz a friend got a mortgage with them within 4 days only last week. The online mortage tracker online just keeps saying they are reviewing it. I dont think its likely i will get the mortgage to be honest as i am on a lower wage but why cant they just let me know! Im afraid the ppl at the apartment i went for will pull out as they was ready to move when i first viewd the property months ago. Any help or advise is much appreciated.

Only 11 weeks?? Woweewa lucky you - I'm at 32 weeks and counting
I can empathise and then some! Yes patience is a virtue but it really is enough to drive the anxiety levels through the roof. Also planning around current accommodation is impossible... So to answer your question, yes. Advice? Try to keep yourself busy so you don't go mad. Don't think about what if and compare to others, just make viable plans B, C, D and E, leave them written down somewhere and continue with your life one day at a time.Credit cards: £9,705.31 | Loans: £4,419.39 | Student Loan (Plan 1): £11,301.00 | Total: £25,425.70Debt-free target: 21-Feb-2027

We are on our 10th week and 47th working day waiting for our mortgage offer.
Our seller has signed the contract to their new house and has been ready to go since the beginning of September.
I don't know what I'll do if I've waited this long for them to decline 😭😭1 -
Not us specifically but the first time buyer at the bottom of our chain is still waiting for their mortgage offer from Clydesdale after 12 weeks. This sort of delay is unacceptable because if, as mentioned above, the answer is no 12 weeks is a very late stage to be letting everyone know. To be honest we're getting pretty impatient with it; if we were to do it all again I don't think I'd be willing to accept an offer from someone who had this bank in the chain. My own bank (HSBC) had everything sorted in 3 weeks so choice of lender does seem quite important.0

its not ideal but not unheard of at the moment. A picky lender coupled with poor service times for document reviews can mean 2-3 week wait every time a question has been asked and answered.0

Yeah. Application went mid-Aug to natwest and received offer last week. I thought that was ages but not compared to some of the posts above!0

I had to wait almost eleven weeks for mine to br issue, 12 weeks for it to turn up in my inbox and on my door step, I am almost into week 13 waiting for solicitor to receive her copy.

This is so bad!
My broker has put a mortgage application in with NatWest 2 weeks ago and still nothing. First mortgage I got a few years ago, I got the offer in less than 1 week.
I feel bad for the sellers because they have a deadline to secure a new house, and if NatWest makes me wait any longer and/or comes back with a revised valuation and they're lending me more money, I'm going to have to pull out and screw the sellers' situation up.0 -
