Forgot to say the cheats cheese straws and the sausage rolls can be frozen and then cooked from frozen.

Good luck and hope all goes smoothly
  • Primula and Ritz crackers are lovely but be careful you don't do it too early or you'll end up with soggy biccies (I know, it happened to me)

I know it's very retro but I love pineapple and cheese on sticks (or cheese and silverkin onions)

Short lengths of celery filled with cream cheese (with a sprinkle of paprika maybe) or peanut butter are yummy

Maybe some cold homemade pasta salad (tomato based should be safe enough)

  • You could use the recipe with some "sosmix" for veggie sausage rolls, it works very well, we always use it for sausage rolls - sometimes adding some chilli sauce if we want spicy ones

Not suitable for vegetarians, and will mean some home-cooking, but these sausage rolls are really cheap to make, and are the best you will have ever tasted!

  • Not sure if it's too late but the night before you can roast aubergines, then *magimix* them, with yoghurt, olive oil, garlic, pepper, and some salt. It's a great dip!

Another one of my favourites is buying cheap camembert (Sainsbury's own brand for instance), removing the inner plastic packaging then putting it back in the box before sticking it in the oven; another great dip!

Also found that people just love rubbery sweets, so I always make sure I buy a few from Lidl before a party. They tend to be the first thing that disappears!
    I :heartpuls Procrastination.
