Hello I paid into a 95 NHS pension scheme for 20 years until 2000 then moved abroad. I'm 60 and can claim it according to the website. Is their any benefit in delaying the claim?

I am pretty sure that deferring the 1995 section beyond NRA will only give you a lump sum of the untaken pension so no benefit other than avoiding immediate taxation on the monthly payment.

I had a deferred NHS pension 1995 and delayed taking it until one month after 60th - you can't get missed payments back so no advantage in delaying it0

Started Nurse Training 1978. Should superannuation payments have been automatically deducted?0

Do you mean every year since 1978 or just for a short period when you started?
Maybe you could add some context to your question.0 -
Appears that no deductions taken during nurse training years. Deductions started on first qualified post. Thought enrolment into scheme would be automatic. Don't remember any discussion around option to pay or not pay. I have no memory of opting out as a student nurse0
