Amigo loan guarantor

Options
I have complained using the resolver form about being accepted as an Amigo guarantor and have made a request  to be released. Should I wait for a resolution or should I pay the loan off now and then claim a refund later?

  • You should clear the debt now.  It'll be costing you a fortune.

Send your complaint directly to Amigo, rather than hoping that Resolver forward it on to the right place.

Pay it as you will get nowhere since you a. agreed. b. had the loan paid into your account. (unless someone fraudulently opened an account in yout name in which case you need to go to the police, resolver is pretty useless).

Please can you provide more detail, did you agree to be a guarantor or is this an act of fraud against you?
  • I agreed but was pressured into it. Also I am reliant on the borrower financially for  rent payments. My finances have been badly affected.
  • That just sounds like you made a terrible decision, rather than Amigo being at fault in anyway.

The idea of you being a guarantor is that you make the payments when the borrower runs out of money. If your own income comes from the borrower, the wheels were always going to rapidly come off.

OK, so again you need resolution from the idiot who pressured you into it (they are not the borrower, you are).

Amigo might let you off, but again you would need proof you were forced into it. Which would be action againt that person.

I can see why you will not do that. But pay it, move on and get awayt from the person (if they are a lodger kick them out).

  • Mse has guidance on guarantor loan grounds for complaint including being put under pressure and financial links to the borrower that can affect finances.
These grounds are the basis of my resolver complaint.

So you agreed to be the guarantor to someone who you need to pay you rent?!
