My daughter graduated this year and has been job hunting all summer. Everything from the supermarkets to graduate schemes. She had to come home for the lockdown and finished her degree at home. We are very rural and she doesnt drive so is a bit limted. One of the graduate schemes got back to her with a group interview which she passed and she has another group interview today. My concerns are the reviews for this company, Acquiro22. Seems lots of people have had problems and it is cold calling and door knocking, which is not what was advertised as a sales/marketing graduate scheme. I have tried (gently) to express my concerns, but she is so desperate for a job she dismisses my fears. The company is based in Manchester, a few hundred miles from us and I'm worried. There doesnt seem to be a basic salary, all commisioned based.
Can anyone tell me anything good about his company?

Sounds like a self employed scam. That said she's young and has no costs - perfect time to learn such a lesson1

she needs to ask them a direct question of what the job entails. it sounds like she has to go around cold calling. so just warn her to do her due diligence on the company.1

thanks, we had a long talk and decided not to go any further, back to job hunting

that is good to hear. cold calling for a graduate career doesn't sound like a great start anyway, even if it is legit.1

Is there any chance of her using this time to learn to drive? It can open so many more doors.Signature removed for peace of mind0

unfortunately she had a very bad experience when she was 17 with a driving instructor (he was convicted of sexual harrassement to a number of his female learners and is now in prison) so she just cant, although she knows she needs to, all we can do is support her and hope she gains the confidence againOn the plus side she has an interview at a localish shop so fingers crossed1

I do hope she's had support and counselling for what happened. And also I'd be quietly on the lookout for a female driving instructor, ready for when she's ready!
Another thought - motorbike! Or electric bike!Signature removed for peace of mind1
