Can I able to two lenders ? Current lender will take too long

Hello. I am having to apply with Kensington due to historical defaults ( 5 years old). They have now asked for a piece of information which will take weeks to obtain.
After some research, I have found a new lender called Generation Home. They would consider my application and act alot quicker. They are not available via a broker.
Kensington have already done a hard search.
Is it worth a shot ?

Just noticed all typos on the title ! Obviously should read ' Am i able to apply with two lenders '0

We effectively ended up doing this for similar reasons. We had several hard searches done within a short space of time but it didn’t seem to affect us adversely as we got our mortgage offer (with the second lender) within 7 working days (the original application with a different lender was 7 weeks in and still no end in sight)! So from my experience it was ok.0

I wish we had done this. We applied with Barclays and it was taking ages and broker said she wasn’t confident we met their criteria as we are both self employed. She said we qualify for a mortgage but she can’t be confident on the amount. She then withdrew the Barclays application and applied through Halifax and it was approved subject to valuation in 24 hours. However the valuation is 2 weeks away. Barclays had already done a desktop valuation.I wish she had left both in progress and we could have gone with whoever comes in first. Broker didn’t anticipate the long wait for a valuation.0

How can you be certain?Simsi91 said:They would consider my application and act alot quicker. They are not available via a broker.
Not advisable to have two mortgage applications running concurrently. One at a time.
