Pushy property developer?

First Time buyer so unsure if all new property developers are the same, however the one we're buying a house from seem very pushy in terms of wanting things done...when everything is taking 3 and 4 times longer than normal currently.
My solicitor only received his copy of my mortgage offer last Monday 05/10. The total time from when I reserved my plot until final mortgage offer was 5 weeks (which seems decent compared to some just now). On Friday 09/10 I had the sales rep from the builder on asking me to chase my solicitor for an update with regards to missives... when he'd only received the offer 4 days prior. I explained this to them and they said he "should have been able to get the ball rolling right away". I ignored this as I didn't want to pester my solicitor who no doubt has a backlog himself. They're at me again today... they haven't even started building my house yet, not due to complete until Late Feb-March. I dropped my solicitor an email just to see what to tell them and he's basically told me to ignore them until he's ready to tell them anything.
Anyone else experienced this?? As if its not stressful enough during these times..

All developers are very pushy, their business needs cashflow; they need people to pay up as quickly as possible, ideally before the property is built, so that they can pay suppliers for materials they've already had to build other people's houses!
All solicitors are slow, and bad at communicating, which makes it stressful to buy a house at any time. The best thing to do is to keep checking with the solicitor every fortnight, and more often when the developer asks you to.
Make sure you ask your solicitor for their advice on the terms of the lease and about any applicable rentcharges if you are buying the freehold. Listen to their advice carefully and ask questions if your don't understand anything about their explanations. The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.1 -
