Large unsecured loans. Help! Coronavirus problems
Options
Hi,
I'll start by quickly telling my story so it's easier to understand so anyone that knows anything can offer some advice.
Over a year and half ago we moved into a static caravan with two young children, the plan was to build a log cabin within the caravan act with a large loan, we checked what we could get before the coronavirus hit and we could get £45,000 on a loan. Anyway fast forward to a year and half of problems with the council, planning and the coronavirus, I'm now basically out of work so we are relying solely on my husband's wage but an even bigger problem is the banks seem to have stopped these loans 😭 so we now are completely stuck! Does anyone have any information on when these loans will be available again? Or anything else that could help? We know that mortgages are not possible on these type of builds.
Any advice welcome as we are completely out of options on what to do
Thanks

Could you get a loan for £25,000? This the highest amount of unsecured loan that is usually available. At least with this, you could start construction and preserve your planning permission. My understanding is that you have to start construction within 3 years of the planning approval being given. While you are waiting for construction to start, and while it is underway, you should try to final alternative employment and push all the income you can into completing the construction at least to the point where you can move in.The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0
