The only problem with using a serious forum for 'fun' and OT posts
See, your conclusions founder on bad assumptions. This is not a serious forum. This is a fun and OTT forum that does serious work. It's the fun and OT posts that make it what it is.
If you want to see what a serious forum looks like - post about how you're having problems paying your loan on the loans board."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)
"We were born and raised in a summer haze." Adele 'Someone like you.'

You are right GP - a bit of light relief is good just so long as it doesn't get out of hand and the board is overtaken.
I do have so much respect for you guys and I would hate for someone to get lost at the bottom of the board but as you say - the hardcore element are around to make sure that doesn't happen

I took this forum to be serious rather than a playpit type. There are lots of 'sort of' OT's that relate to someone's debt and fit right in.
I use another board for a different subject and woe betide you if you sneak OT or post on a wrong forum

Rubbish / trivia / pointless threads (like this one!) have a short lifespan and fall to the bottom of the pond whilst anything with a sense of urgency about it is constantly bumped by the hardcore members who make it their mission to help people in need.
We could always resurrect the 'Tesco Value Bog Roll' Thread - GP?
