COT3/ACAS views please

Hi,
If you are an (ex) employee and have dealt with ACAS I was wondering your views on the service you received from them.
I signed a COT3 last year with my ex employer and I feel ACAS weren't exactly helpful in advising what to do - they said sorry can't give you advice and hounded me until I agreed it. But that's just my experience and was wondering yours.

They are not there to give you legal representation. It's up to you to get legal advice before agreeing to a cot3. When you say they hounded you, had you told them you needed time to talk to a solicitor or raised issues with specific points? If you just weren't doing anything about it then I could definitely see why they would need to be chasing it up. What was it you expected from acas exactly?

The purpose of ACAS is to help manage your expectations of the tribunal process. They are not a legal advice service.

Plough through OP's other thread and you'll realise it's all been asked before... Link in Savvy Sue's post above.
