However - it looks good value - EXCEPT - there is one review on the Pixmania website and it's not good:written by Marcus Jones on 06/07/2006 on the GPS navigator TravelPilot Lucca II MP3 - Europe
Good 6 out of 10United Kingdom - Wrexham
Lots of extra features, clear and audible directions, decent touchscreen display
Not being able to use the full 8 digit post code is shocking for such an expensive unit. The Garmin i3 / i5 are easier to use when entering an address. Was expecting a lot from Blaupunkt as they have a history of quality automotive electronics behind them.
However, this unit disappoints. Whilst the build quality and accessories are fine, the amount of hassle involved in entering a destination are unbelievable.
The unit I had couldn't even find my own address, even though it's been on the Royal Mail postcode database since the year dot. Every other navigation system I have owned has had no problems whatsoever.
Incidentally, this is a decidely slow unit when it comes to searching for an address by town then street. The spec says it runs with an ARM processor, somehow I think they could have done better.
There is also a disturbing lack of support for this product. If you search the net for any upgrades, you'll be lucky to find anything available. Unlike Garmin, who routinely release bug fixes and product improvements etc.
Been able to use the device as a JPEG viewer is clever, as is the MP3 playback ability, but I've got other devices for that function. I'd rather have had an excellent satnav than yet another MP3 player.
Overall, poor value for money, despite carrying the blue spot's heritage with it.0 -

Hi
I am new but am not a spammer. Have just discovered this forum recently.
I like it but I would say sometimes I buy things mentioned on these forums that I would not normally buy so it may be more costly in the long run.
The review of this GPS is something that would put you off. Is there anywhere you can see one of these to try out? eg Halfords.
