Resigning during probation period

Hi everyone I’m new here and was hoping for some advice:
I’m still within the probation period after agreeing to join on a permanent basis after having worked in the same role through an agency beforehand.
I left another role to join and made it clear to the agency that when I was to join permanently that I would do so but my salary would need to be matched and that I’d have to start earlier and finish earlier than they originally set out because the commute is quite a time consuming one.
The agency told me at the time that the company I’m working for had agreed to that, but upon signing up with them the money wasn’t right, they said it would match with overtime etc but this isn’t proving to be the case and with the pay cut and the extra it’s costing me in petrol getting to work I’m about £120 a week worse off!.
While I’m able to start earlier sometimes and avoid the traffic, most of the time I’m not and consequently it’s taking me an hour to get into work and about the same again to get home whereas my old work is about 15 minutes.
I have a good relationship with my old place of work and have been asked back so in theory I’d not only be £120 a week better off but saving an hour and a half of commuting every day too.
The down side is I do enjoy where I’m working now and like the people, I feel a bit bad about letting them down but I can’t make it work financially and want to resign.
Is it really frowned upon to leave during your probation period?, I only have until next week to give me notice in and only have to work a weeks notice instead of 4, while I feel bad about it I’d rather go back to my old job as it makes more sense for me, basically I tried it and it’s not working out.
Can where I am at the moment get annoyed/sack me even though I’ve not done anything wrong?.

I don't think anyone would set out to deliberately set someone up for an error they hadn't made. My current company's policy is on handing in notice; if there is any annual leave to be had it gets used rather then them having to pay for it (should some one feel guilty about that?) I've been in other companies who were hell bent on quite the reverse. The job isn't financially viable, you've given it a go. I recall one time when I got a job as a Council Temp (madness at time) and probably the best thing was my ex help desk employer taking me back. Never regretted knowing what I had to do, that moment in Jan 2017 has always stayed as a positive.0
