Old Woolwich Mortgage ..ended 1975

Trying to confirm end of old mortgage, Woolwich bought by Barclays in 2000, not really helping, and I do not have the account number.;-{{

    Hopefully, there would be no record of this mortgage with the bank.   There would be no justification under the data protection act for them to do so.

    All of the old Woolwich Mortgages used to be off system within about 4/5 years of closing and were placed on microfiche! When I worked at the Woolwich we had those going back many many years, although you'd need the account number to find it from memory.

    I don't think they will have details anymore, good knows where those boxes ended up (probably in the bin).

    Is it just me that is curious why the OP wants to find out about a mortgage that ended 45 years ago????

    Maybe explain why you need to confirm it and perhaps people can help with an alternative suggestion?
    For example does the Land Registry still show a charge on the property?

    That would seem a likely reason. I expect it's Barclays who would need to deal with it, but the OP needs some way of reaching the "awkward problems" desk.
