They ruin there own lives and if that’s not enough they ruin mine too.

I’m never gona lend again regardless of reason

My brother I lent to him for a number of reason, so we don’t have to share room.

He had a high paying job at the time

They was ages left till I got a house.

My friend I lent to him cos I fell for his traps and beloved  him cos he was being so nice and  letingt me come to his house etc

And sometimes all my wages went to him which he gambled so I had no choice to get a payday loan just to survive the month, with him I was very navie and guilble and he was a master manipulator used every trick in the book, I feel stupid for trusting him.

    He gambled most the money.

Yes I would like advice on getting money back, even if I win in court there’s no grauntee.

And even if I get my money back which would be fantastic that will not change the credit file or the stress they’ve put me through.

I think you may have to budget on the basis you won't be getting this money repaid back from either of them. It's an awful situation to have to be in, but many of us have lent money and never seen it back. Manage the money you do have now and if any of this comes back it's a bonus.

To be honest court proceedings would cost a lot in fees for a relatively small amount and then they'd likely get off with a low payment plan or claim they couldn't afford to pay back. You'd lose lots of the value in solicitors fees.

Missed payments and accounts marked settled (as in full and final settlements) are not something mortgage lenders are thrilled with either, so make sure you're a few years past these too in terms of cleaning up your credit file. There's a good thread on the mortgages board where you can ask brokers what they think your chances are on the mortgage front and will advise you what you need to do.

  • I think you'll need to speak to a broker closer the time. You need to get these debts cleared and any missing payments or defaults years in the past before you even start thinking about mortgages.
