Buyer getting amended mortgage offer

Our buyer’s solicitor has said that they are awaiting an amended mortgage offer. I believe they have amended for a lower amount. Any idea how long it might take the bank to issue? Unhelpful I don’t know who their lender is.
I asked the estate agent to contact broker and was surprised to learn they didn’t have those details or know if the buyer is applying directly etc.

Doesn't sound as if you are going to hit your completion date ! Not long in answer to your question. If that's actually the issue.0

Yes I think you are right. Spoke to EA this morning and apparently it’s for a higher amount rather than lower. Buyer was getting a loan from a family member to cover the deposit and when solicitor disclosed to the bank, unsurprisingly they objected. Can’t believe no one advised them sooner. Apparently they have a new DIP but we’re definitely in for a delay.0
