Mortgage interview

Hello
A quick question regarding applying for mortgages, mainly more so for the folks that recently applied (or applied during lockdown).
How does the mortgage interview go with being in lockdown?
I'm assuming an application is put through to the lender, with the supporting documents and then do they call you in a branch/ office for a formal interview?
It's looking like we're braced for another lockdown so just wandering how lenders will interview as this is not essential?
Thanks

I dont know about direct but brokers can do everything over the phone and email with no delays in getting an appointment. No change here1

Oh thanks! That's good to know, just keen to lock in the rates that I'm seeing and just assumed that the possible lockdown will make it near impossible to apply if lenders can't interview face to face but good to know brokers do over the phone0

Phone, email, or zoom/teams has been my working method for last 7 months now. ID checks are done electronically or you hold your ID up on a call so it can be certified as a good likeness.
I know that some estate agency based brokers are only doing face to face at the moment but I think that should be seen as a negative rather than a positive as they are showing themselves unable to adapt to a changing climate and customer demand.1 -
Thanks all, can confirm i did a whatsapp video call with my broker to show my passport, very simple! Although i was not questioned on my monthly outgoings to stress test afforability which i was expecting0
