This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Morning all
I cant believe we have not been started already, I hope you are all having a good lay in. Bright and sunny here but cold, I have stripped the beds and got them on a hot wash.
Yesterday turned into a bit of a disaster OH took little pup to the vets for her jabs and she came home and hid herself away in a bed under the table, she then came out and was crying and kind of screamingshe was trying to do a poo but couldnt, we thought it might be a reaction to the jabs so phoned the vet who said to give her a piriton and see how she is, with that she started screaming again so we managed to have a look at her bum and there was blood and something sticking out, we rushed straight back to the vet and took her in, they vet examined her and thought at first it was an abcess or something, but on closer inspection saw it was a poo which she was struggling to get out, he managed to hep her and cleaned her up etc and has given her two lots of medicine, bless her she is feeling very sorry for herself and has been sick this morning, we will keep an eye on her today and take her back if necessary
poor baby.
The house needs a quick tidy this morning and its roast pork and all the trimmings for dinner, hopefully we will get chance to clear the little shed as it did not happen yesterday !!
Bella all the best for today I hope it goes well xx
Have good days all xx

Morning All
Poor little pup RR, hope she recovers soon.
Have fun today bella and hope DD feels better soon.
Beautiful sunshine this morning again, washing out and I've walked down to Aldi for bread that I forgot to get yesterday.
DS1 and the DGC are coming today, they went for a covid test yesterday to be on the safe side, DS1 said doing the kids' tests was like trying to nail jelly to a wall but all negative which is the main thing. It's DS1s birthday today so I've made him a cake for later, the children love the candles and of course any kind of cake!
Hoping for a walk (or scoot for the kids) later as the weather is so good and I've booked to take them swimming tomorrow, they haven't been since March.
Have a lovely Sunday, take care. XX12 -
Morning folks and thanks RUBY. Aw poor little doggy I hope she recovers from the ordeal quickly and doesn't need another vet visit.
I am having a Sloth Sunday (so what's new!!) I wasn't a lie-a-bed but I have been in messing about mode ever since I got up. I am doing myself a roast lunch and have prepped my veg in readiness. In the spirit of MSE I took advantage of Aldi's Super 6 veg the other day so lunch will involve the SS tender stem broccoli and butternut squash I got, along with some carrot and swede mash and cauli cheese from the freezer.
It's a lovely day here with wall to wall blue sky though sadly not very high temps! But at least yesterday's wind has dropped. I have been thinking of BELLA and her family and hope the wedding today goes without a hitch and they too are enjoying nice weather. Much happiness winging its way to the happy couple.
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for all in need. Take care and stay safe and sane in these trying times we are in x

Morning
Ouch for your poor pup rubes hope she's OK
Gorgeous sunny weather here but very cold
Up at usual daft o'clock so made a ham, lentil and butternut squash soup for the slow cooker which should be lovely in this cold weather it was a bit of a "chuck in" so fingers crossed.
Watched BGT this morning on rapid fast forward and very pleased with the winner....cant stand magicians so surprised one of them didn't win with the amount of them in the final common sense won through
Plans today are to tidy the kitchen hoover down and do some veg for a ham roast later
Was somewhat disappointed yesterday when I unpacked my bargain baileys and it still had the anti theft thing on so no sneaky coffee and baileys till next week now.
Have a good sunday all

Tomorrow a new boiler is being fitted here so I need the biscuits for the engineers.Sorry to hear about puppy, Ruby. Glad he's getting sorted.Camelot - enjoy the GC and cake.Happy Sunday to all.11

Hello all, everyone seems to be having a well earned lie in today. The sun is shining with intermittent clouds but there is a good breeze blowing, so the wm is on with the bedding waiting to go in next. I shall line dry it hopefully and maybe hang it over the airer to finish off. The bin filling awaits my attention too today as it's a tad warmer than yesterday, only a couple of degrees though. We had a panicky call from Dad yesterday who was in his car outside the surgery waiting for his flu jab. It appears that he couldn't find his mask, he thought he had put it in his pocket and they wouldn't let him in without it. We took him a HM one down and another successful mission was had by the emergency mask replacement crisis team
It's Dad's birthday soon and I haven't got him anything for a present so later I think I shall sort out some edible goodies and make up a hamper, much more personal and cheaper than a ready made bought one. I made him one for Father's day, a sweets and chocs one so this time it will be a savory one including a HM corned beef pie, cheese and pickles, pate and crackers etc
The curry yesterday was delicious and there was enough rice and curry leftover to be frozen for another meal. Toady's offering will be a jacket potato with some coronation chicken for himself ( as it needs using up asap - I'm not throwing anything away if it can be helped) and I'll have tuna on mine.Hope everyone can have a good SaturdayBella hope you have a lovely day today but I'm sorry that DD can't be there. I'm sure she is being well looked after and looking forward to seeing the photos.RedRuby poor doggie, hope all is well now.Hugs to all, take care stay safe and sane, if you cannan xxSorry half a doz seem to have posted while I was faffing about with mine !Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently11 -
Nanny, you would have thought that the surgery would be able to spare one for an elderly gent.
RR, I hope the poor puppy is better soon.
I just had Laura on having a moan about Brian. He's taken Esben out so that she can get on with the article she's on deadline for, except he has taken nothing for the poor little mite to eat. he seems to think that he's like an adult and can wait for food if he's hungry and then is bewildered when he's unhappy (not the first time this has happened). He's lucky that Esben is such an easy going baby otherwise he's know about it.
Steve and Chris are going out to golf this afternoon so I shall do some sewing. We've sorted out stuff for a tip and charity shop run in the morning and I've also sorted out the cupboards where I keep the myriad plastic boxes I seem to have collected. I've discarded stray lids which means we'll probably find the bases this week.9 -
Afternoon all
Thanks for the thread RR and hugs to all those in need.
I bought a lovely thick hoodie yesterday from the jumble sale so it should keep me warm this winter. I finished another crochet lap blanket yesterday evening, now I need to dig out the instructions to make another capelet, I cast on earlier in the year but can't remember the pattern now.
We went out for breakfast this morning. We didn't go far as we are moored at the end of the cafe moorings.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester
Chin up, Titus out.7
