You can earn points in any of the different Co-ops but it costs £1 to join one of them. So which is the best one to join in terms of ethical position?

Southern Co-operative
Central England Co-operative
Midcounties Co-operative
Chelmsford Star Co-operative
Co-op Group

I'm afraid I don't have knowledge covering all of these Co-op's and I suspect not many people will have.

I would go for the smallest Co-op, as the larger Co-ops have to be more commercial which means they inevitably have to occasionally take less ethical decisions.
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.

It doesn't really cost £1 to join, you're buying a share (minimum £1) to become a member. You get your £1 back when you get fed up with them!

I'm afraid we now know the answer: none of them
The middle class greed and the lucre has got the better of Co-op and unlike Tesco, Sains, Asda, Morries etc have not done the right thing with the rates money from the Government.
Their virtue signaling Christmas advert does rather stick in the throat now after their Corporate behaviors/ethics. Utter hypocrisy.

TBH I am not a fan of our Co op group, I've heard too many similar things from different perspectives over the years, to swallow how they present themselves as a caring, community focused ethical business.

My nearest does get a shout out because they stock a terrific range for the size of the store. Very very pricey though.
