6 month Lenovo Tablets faulty. My rights ?

Hello
I bought 2 Lenovo tablets for my nieces online from Argos. I used my Argos credit card. They were £99.99 each. Total cost with delivery £203.93
Both tablets had problems after about 5 months so I took them back approx 4-6 weeks ago. One wouldn't work unless plugged in. The other had developed a crack. Screen wouldn't work. The girls are not allowed to use them when they want and are monitored. They assured me that the one that had the crack had not been dropped and that it started off as a small crack and developed further over the day.
Had a phone call from Argos yesterday to say that the cracked one also has water damage. Highly unlikely. The cost to repair over £190.00. Told this damage is not covered by warranty (?).
Today I had another call from Argos lamenting that I had been waiting a long time and that they would send me a new one. The call was from Scotland and I pointed out that I had returned 2 tablets. When she realised where I was (England) she said that she had made a mistake and ended the call.
I know people pay thousands for computers but this is a lot of money for me.
Do I have any rights when they are blaming us at least on the cracked tablet. Just strange that both ended up faulty. Bad batch ?

Not sure what your rights would be with regard to the cracked screen as you can't prove it wasn't dropped, unfortunately. However the one that only works when it's plugged in should definitely be rejected as Not Fit for Purpose.

On the water damage thing it can go multiple ways, modern electronics have easily triggered stickers as things like condensation can affect it, and people charging in areas such as windowcils, also if there was a small crack it may of made moisture get inside not enough to damage the device but enough to trigger the stickers.

Thank you for the info. I hope that I have understood it but not really sure what 'stickers' are.
My gut feeling is that the girls are telling the truth and it wasn't dropped. Pehaps there is such a thing as a bad batch. Just odd how both went wrong. They were bought at the same time.AKA : Bala La Boo & Bala Baloo
