If you look at the HSBC lending criteria on their intermediary website is states LTI of 4.49 for 85% LTV or above which I believe you fall into: http://www.intermediaries.hsbc.co.uk/criteria/residential-lending-criteria.html
we had the same issue as our HHI is £78801 - very similar to yours.

Yes thanks! MA had to be told about this LTI difference as he was unaware of it in the start.
I worked out at the end that if we had paid min of £435 more on top of our 15% deposit, it would have suffice their requirement but we decided to pay 0.5% more just so it doesn’t look cheeky.Seriously, people who don’t pick up on this point would lose out on their well deserved mortgage offer as Mortgage Advisors are not well versed in this at all.0
