Hi all,
We have just echanged on our new build property, We are due to comeplete some time in mid december. And have a couple of questions, any help would be appreciated
I know its unwise to take out new credit during this time due to the risk of the mortgage being withdrawn, however, Close to completion I was planning on Putting around £400 on an existing credit card to pay for some furniture.(currently has no balance, I just use it buy fuel then pay it off every month), Would this be viewed by the Lender (Halifax) As having an effect oin my affordability?
Also could the same be said for taking out Utlities? (BT, Electric, Gas etc....)
Cheers in advance

I'm pretty sure your credit files don't reveal what your current card balances are, so that ought to be fine. I'd hope lenders aren't daft enough to be alarmed by a home mover opening new utility accounts - but there's no need for you to do that before completion (electricity and gas anyway - you just take meter readings when you move on and take over from the seller's supplier, BT I expect will require advance notice).1
