Zola. said:Gas has been great for us, but pricey enough to get done. We spent 4k doing ours, but we put in a fancy shower and changed 5 radiators as well... It's fantastic not worrying about running out of oil and sorting all that out.... the house heats up a lot quicker too.
Has to be said it's not any cheaper than oil though, just a hell of a lot more convenient. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
NI... I pay a direct debit of £80 a month to SSE, which allows for lots of use in winter and little use in the summer. 80*12 = £960.
I was paying £900 a year for oil...0 -
Really??A two-bedroom flat I pay £20 per fortnight which is £480 per year and I am always in credit as well. With SSE but I pay via Easy Saver Card.0

I have only had it a year and a half, so I don't know if this is the long term cost, but for now, that's what they are charging me. I thought it is expensive too, but it's about the same as I paid for oil I guess.
I am in a semi-detached house, so your environment may be a lot easier to heat thank mine, if you have neighbours above, below and to the sides.0
