Do I make an over payment

Hello,
I am currently in the midst of borrowing more to move home with the same lender, my current mortgage is at 1.99% fixed for another 2 years and i am taking out another loan that is 1.49% fixed for 2 years to meet the extra borrowing
Lets say the existing loan is 100k and the new loan is 200k and I have 25k in cash to make up the required amount to purchase the property to make it less real and easier maths.
Whilst I was going to give the different to the solicitors before completion would I not be better off if I made an over payment of 10% now? Paying more off on the loan that is @ 1.99% and borrowing it again in a month or 2 at 1.49% instead of borrowing less later down the line
just thinking in my head it seems like this would drop my repayments by a very small amount, but still an amount that would add up over 2 years
