State Pension additional NI payments - where's the money !

Hi all
Been jumping through the hoops as my pension is due on the 14/Jan/2020
I am some years short as was opted out.
Was given an amount to pay over the phone and a bank account to send it to.
It was sent on the 28/Aug/2020 and I have heard absolutely nothing.
Till the 24/Sept/2020 I was sent an official ' State Pension amount ' letter with no sign of my additional contributions increasing the amount.
Neither has the money changed my online forecast.
The letter states I have 1 month to question the amount ?
I rang the number on the letter , they told me it is dealt with by a New Claims Line , only problem is no one answers that !
1)So where's my money.
2) should I be worried
3) is the 1 month a threat ? a deadline it needs to be sorted by ?
Sorry this is long winded however most things done by the Government seem to be :-)
Paul

In normal times it takes around 8 weeks from payment to showing in your NI record so I expect, as it is partly a manual process, it will likely take longer.
    1) in the system somewhere
    2) not really
    3) ?

It will all get sorted in time & any arrears backdated so you don't need to worry.
  • Thanks for your prompt replies.
I will keep checking my online quote and hope for the best.

What tax years did you pay for? Is the contribution showing on your NI record?
  • I also had this problem, I phoned 0300 200 3500 and quoted my NI number and 18 digit reference number, they told me they can see the money but was not allocated yet, he told me he will email support to get the money credited. It showed online the same day. Hope this helps.
  • Last 4 years , none shown on record yet although I understand 19/20 won't be showing till after year end.
Thanks for the number I will give that a try , just someone saying they can see the money would be good :)
    regards Paul
  • Is there any way of editing posts ?
    Obviously I meant 20/21 not 19/20

Yes - if you look at the right hand side of the blue bar at the top of your post you should see a little 'cogwheel' symbol - clicking on it should allow you to edit (if you don;t see it, it may be that as a new user you need to make a few more posts before the edit facility is enabled)

Should be OK then, just wanted to check because if you pay for years before 16/17 it's possible they won't get you any extra pension due to the way the cutover to the new state pension worked. But paying for the last few years will usually get you extra if you've not already got the full new state pension.

Spot on 12 minute wait to be answered and a 3 minute phone call confirmed they can see my payment and suggested I wait 72 hours for it to be processed.
    Patience grasshopper ....
