Ghd repairs..?

I have some Ghd straighteners that are in need of some TLC. The cable is worn at both ends plus there may be an issue with the thermostat or similar. I don't have the money to buy new ones and even if I did I'd be reluctant to add to landfill.

In the past I would have considered fixing them myself, but due to ill health finding time when I'm with it and able both physically and mentally is a long shot.

I've come across a company called Ghd Recycle which claims to fix Ghd straighteners for £26.99 (incl. parts & labour). The reviews are good, but I'd rather have feedback from those who care where their money goes. So, what I'd like to know is...
❔Have you use Ghd Recycle?
❔If so, did they fix you Ghd straighteners for the price stated?
❔Or perhaps you have experience of another company (either good or bad)..?

Please end my seriously bad hair days. 🤯
Thanks! 😊

I have taken them around and collected them when he's contacted me. He just charges one price. Once mine needed a new cable, a friends just wouldnt switch on,.

If I knew where "here" was and the name of the company you used your post might be useful. 😉😁 I'm glad you got yours sorted hassle free. 🙂

The ones that need repairing are 4.0B so not a problem. 🙂
  • Well I got scared at the thought of sending the Ghds, especially as I'd received no feedback on the company from MSE users, and potentially not only losing the repair fee, but also the chance of having the cost of replacing them should the old pair go AWOL.

I bit the bullet and ordered a replacement cable from www.ghdspares.co.uk which arrived in less than 48 hours. I watched a YouTube how to video and successfully replaced the cable (just over a tenner for the cable & postage) and they are still working.  :) The hardest bit was finding the correct sized screwdrivers to take the straighteners apart.
