Swollen finger joint protector

The top joint on my middle finger right hand has become very swollen with arthritis. It's generally not too painful but as I'm right handed i find that everyday activities such as using a pen or cutlery rub against it causing soreness. Ive been trying to protect the area with plasters but they invariably come off the first time I wash my hands or quickly become dirty. Ive seen various 'sleeve' type protectors but the prices vary wildly and would prefer personal recommendations.
It needs to be something I can take on and off as I work in a care home and am washing my hands constantly.
Thank you 🙂

sorry not able to help, wish I could as I have the exact same problem on left hand. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0

I've ordered some silicone tubes from Amazun. Due to be delivered tomorrow. I shall report back. Have you tried any finger cohesive? They are water-resistant and don't leave any residue or glue on the finger. However, I am not sure how much support they offer to finger.2

Well the silicone tubes have arrived. Apparently they are finger cots. So far I've found them very helpful. They do just what I want and also seem to be easing the joint a little.Easy to remove when required. Downside, they have quite a tacky surface so pick uopfluff and dog hair easily ( great for spot cleaning!) tend to look grubby quite quickly. Feel clumsy sometimes. The cohesive bandages recomended above also look helpful if you don't need to remove them regularly.0
