Who lodged the CCJ, it should give you a reference on your credit report. There can be various reasons why it does not appear in a search, but first it helps to know what it was issued for.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Thank you for your reply it says COUNTY COURT BUSINESS CEN and the amount it was a credit card0

Thats Northampton Bulk Processing Centre then, thats the court most judgements are made through. So its a credit card, does it ring any bells ?Have you moved in recent years ? as the address the papers were served at may not have been your current one, which would explain why it does not show up on the registry. You can email the court with the ref number and they will give you the details (best to email as the phone is constantly in use).I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. No thats whats confusing i've had no paperwork no notifications at all ,In the beginning Stepchange contacted everyone then i took it all over ,Everyone accepted my payments of a £1 a month and just every 6 months i get a letter stating i can pay it all off or carry on with my plan that's in place ,I keep hoping that i get left a fortune so i can pay off all my debts but until then i will carry on with the £1 a month0

Would an insolvency option work for you, do you rent or are you a homeowner ?

Hi we rent with a housing association we are aged 62 and 61 how do we do the insolvency thank you0

Jim there are a number of options, it depends how much you owe, and what your personal circumstances are.A valuable first step is to do a statement of affairs, so we can see what your situation actually is -Token £1 payments are only ever used as a temporary solution, you could just carry on like this forever if your situation will not improve, but you can still be chased etc etc, with no real end to it.A Debt Relief Order on the other hand could take away your debt worries in as little as 12 months, as long as you meet the qualifying criteria, and your debt is less than 20k.If you owe a substantial amount, then the ultimate weapon is Bankrupcy, it depends on your circumstances as i said.Fill in the SOA as accurately as you can, and don`t forget to format it for MSE when prompted, then post it on here.

A Debt Relief Order on the other hand could take away your debt worries in as little as 12 months, as long as you meet the qualifying criteria, and your debt is less than 20k.It will also wipe out any rental debts (and loans from family etc) so best to make sure you have all your debts listed in your statement of affairs as a DRO will have negative effects in some circumstances. Wiping out debts to a landlord can have significant repercussions.
