Glasses direct

Hi all
I am needing some varifocual I havent worn them before. I was quoted 120 quid just for the lenses at specsavers as they said i should go for their elite range.

I've ordered a home trial via glasses direct and like two pairs. Now the main pair I could get the lowest range on the varifocual and only pay 61 quid with the anti reflection. They claim to be equivalent to the mid range at a high Street optician
Obviously the better lenses the higher the price but if i get the top range I would pay 111 quid.
People are saying its up to me and not giving much advice.
I don't know what's best to do.

I could get the lower range and get a distance pair of sunglasses for 71 quid. I could also get the transition lenses for 116 on the lower range.

What would you go for.

  • Asda Opticians will do varifocals at much lower price than GD. GD are ok but only in the cheaper range. The moment you add features to your glasses, they tend to be as expensive than the high street or even more. I always keep a pair or two of basic spare glasses from GD just in case.
