Hello,
iam looking for some advice or suggestions. I have a mortgage application approved and it expires in January. I am looking fo purchase a half share in a property I will inherit from my late mum. The other party is difficult and my late mums will still has not been settled. Due to Covid and them generally being slow, the solicitor has only in the last three weeks sent the other party a letter.

They haven’t responded.
the situation is beginning to make me very unwell and anxious. I live in the property with my two children. What should I do? I can’t see things being resolved before January. The offer is with NatWest
edited to add: can I re apply for a mortgage soon after it expires?
im getting conflicting information from the lender and broker. Lender said an extension was do able, broker said knowing them it wasn’t and the second time I spoke to the lender they said all they could potentially do was a month max

who is the executor of the will? if they have to divide the estate up (and the property has not specifically been left to you 2 in half shares but just as part of the estate) then they can go ahead and sell the property when they have probate.0

I am an executor and so is the solicitor. My dad is holding things up as he wants reimbursed for the funeral, and has been a bit dodgy about it all! Paid in cash he can’t prove but wants reimbursed.I want to purchase his share but confirmation needs to go ahead and can’t until the Will is resolved. The half share that was mums has been left specially to me, hence why I’m trying to purchase my dads share. There was a Will, but my dad is complicating things, he wasn’t left anything because they didn’t get on. My issue the time scale of 14 weeks to do both confirmation and the purchase. Solicitor has had months to send a letter off and dads solicitor hasn’t replied in four weeks. Becoming very stressed as I live in the property with my two young children.0

The Funeral Director would be able to confirm the cost of the funeral.0

Is the money worth fighting over? Given the total amount that is involved and you've inherited half a property.0
