Mortgage application issues

Options
Hi,
I applied for a Barclays mortgage through Land and Country about 1 1/2 weeks ago, unfortunately the electronic id failed and I am required to send original documents providing proof of address. Electronic copies are not accepted and none of the banks I am with do paper statements so I haven't had any statements since Feb 2020.
I immediately phoned up my bank to request a paper statement but over a week has gone and I still haven't received it.
I notice Barclays have now pulled the product, does this mean I will have to reapply for another mortgage now?

If the application was in, the product is reserved. Why are L&C not advising you here?
In the first place, you do not need a bank statement for ID, you can use a credit card statement, utility bill, or council tax statement (also smarter than using a bank statement as less detail for the lender to worry about).

If you have no alternative but to use a bank statement, download a pdf copy from your Bank and send that in. As long as the statement carries your name, account number, sort code, and the bank’s name it is acceptable. Finally anything provided should be dated after 31st July ( apart from the council tax statement which can be dated March 2020)

Another reason why L+C is not for me. Could they be doing this as part of a delaying tactic?

I never got asked for said documents when I remortgaged to Barclays with my broker. Online bank statements sufficed

I am not so sure the application has actually been made. It is L+C that are requesting me send them id and proof of address.
I have been told they must be original copies (eg. my actual passport) and the 2 proof of address must be documents that have been sent via the post, that are dated within 3 months and have my address on them.
I still haven't recieved my statement from my bank so out of desperation I have phoned up all my savings accounts to send me statements.
I have been on the electoral roll for 20 odd years, and both my solicitor and the estate agent were happy to accept photos or scans of ids.

Sounds overkill. If we cannot verify online we ask for a second proof of either Id or residency (internet ones are fine) and if they dont have that we ask them to get their I'd verified at the post office and send in the verified I'd
