Esurv valuation experience - down valuation or not

Anyone have recent experience with Esurv valuation?
My buyers lender has instructed a valuation and I have been told Esurv will complete the valuation.
looking through various I get the feeling these guys are notoriously bad for down valuations.
anyone have recent experience they could share - what they did when they came and the outcome

We had a down valuation recently from them which was based on the lack of comparable sales. We offered £425k and the valuation came back at £400k. Renegotiated to £415k.

Surveyors are accountable to lenders as it's potentially their money at risk.  Lenders themselves will be forecasting the impact of the economic downturn on property prices looking forward. Be surprising if there wasn't considerable caution.

Recently had them to do a valuation he asked me what I thought my property was worth I said about £115k he had a quick look round took a few photos bobbed his head in the loft space altogether it took about 10 minutes got report back 3 days later valued £115k

Recently had them via nationwide. Property sale price £185K valued by them at £170K.

Was very lucky and managed to renegotiate sale price to £173K
