Recent Halifax Underwriters experiences?

Hi
Just looking to see if anyone has any idea of underwriters timescales at the moment for Halifax? DH is self employed so we knew from the start that we would need underwritten. Currently we've passed credit check, they have our home buyers report and my employed income payslips showing I'm back from furlough have been accepted by the case handling team. We've uploaded everything (SA302's, bank statements and tax overviews) for DH. He's in the trades soo had a bit of time off with Covid but has been back since mid June. Just had email saying they'll be calling within the next 24 hours to take the product fee for the mortgage we chose. The advisor suggested they take the fee before u/w so that they offer could be generated by u/w (unless it all goes wrong) instead of getting passed back to them. So, yeah, they said around a week/10 days but I wondered if anyone had real life recent experiences?

I was 5 weeks in total with Halifax. Had issues with underwriters and the application needed to be resubmitted. My broker requested they delayed the valuation (buying a new build) until they had underwriters approval so I wouldnt lose my survey fee if it was declined. I was 4 weeks from application to approval and then another week for the survey and final mortgage offer received.First Time Buyer
Help to Buy (Scotland) + mortgage at 68% LTV
Application submitted (Halifax)- 13/08
Referred to underwriters- 18/08
Discrepancies on application reported- 28/08
Application resubmitted- 02/09
Mortgage Offer Approved- 14/09
Missives Concluded- 22/10
Completion due- Feb 20211 -

Thank you. Glad you got it all sorted. We are 2 weeks in at the moment so hopefully not too long left to go. We are in Scotland and the home report company are on the Halifax panel luckily so no need for valuation. I'll not get my hope's up to hear anything next week!0 -
I'm scotland as well and the foundations of my house haven't even been dug but they sent a surveyor out to the site anyway which I thought was hilarious as I'd have assumed they'd just have did it all desktop!Minnie82 said:

Omg! What a waste of time eh! We are hoping to move 3 weeks on Monday and I'm stressing in case underwriters take forever. It should hopefully be straightforward just proving hes been working as normal again for a few months. Hope so anywayGem_M90 said:

We was waiting for our offer but our property got down valued (buying my dad out of an inherited property) so our MA has put it forward to the underwriters so they can manually check our salaries etc. Anyway that was done on Sat 26th and they was working 2 weeks behind at that point so I’m hoping we hear this week. When did your case go to the underwriters?1

I think we are just going into the underwriter que tomorrow, they should be calling tomorrow to take product fee, if i dont hear I'll call them (we got an email Friday morning saying to expect a call within 24 hours). We have 3 weeks until we are hoping to move so I'm keeping everything crossed!0 -
Just an update in case anyone ever searches in the future. Our product fee has been taken and that's us in underwriters hands. The girl who called said underwriters currently sitting around 5 working days so probably early next week we will hear. She said all documents etc have been approved as has affordability so she was very confident it should be an offer coming out.0
