State Pension Pay Day

So my national insurance number ends in 19 meaning my pension pay will be Monday. My 66th birthday falls on Tuesday. Apparently its paid in arrears every 4 weeks. However it appears i will therefore lose 6 days pension. Anyone else have this issue.

You will not lose anything.  The first payment will be a part payment and the next the full 4 weeks.

If you read the info DWP has sent you (or will send you, depending on your age), it sets out precisely that, explaining the timing/amount of the first payment is designed to get you onto the regular payment cycle.

It used to be the case that you might lose money, they said that you get an overpayment when you die which makes up fo it! Useful huh? So now they've changed it. When you get your letter telling you what you'll get, it will tell you the date of your first part payment and so on.
