Wrong Furlough pay- do I take it further!

Even though I’ve been with the same company for 4 years it has changed ownership twice in the past year. The first change over was just before Christmas last year, so my furlough was calculated from that point. I was on Maternity leave in the first few months of the new company, I had finished my mat pay but still had leave, as I had enough savings and struggled to get a childcare place I just did my return to work / contact days to catch up with all the new bits. My contact days were miss calculated in pay and had to be corrected by CHAPS, my return to work first few months where also missing hours in one case over a week which had to be corrected, this also lead to my P60 being incorrect by about 70 hours.
They calculated my furlough based on hours worked on my P60. From my 20 hour contract I had 2.5 hours furlough. I questioned and asked for a recalculation and after 5 months it went to 6 hours then to just under 10 hours. Apart from my contact days I have always worked over my contract hours so this was a kick in the teeth. I have kept emailing and got a this is our final decision stop email us response. I am sure that any Mat leave should not be including which would mean my furlough money would be 16 hours from my contact 20.
I really want to take this further as I believe I am now over £1000 owed, but in case I am wrong and end up being not needed anymore I am cautious to fight further with formal grievance.

Not sure what your question is - do you just want opinions on whether you should 'take it further'? That has to be your call, based on how likely you are to be moved up the P45 queue.
I don't think anyone here could help with the pay calculation based on so little information. Might be worth giving ACAS's helpline a call to check, in general terms, what furlough pay should have been based on?Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!0 -
thanks. Yes I need to clarify on what terms furlough should have been based on as it seemed Mat pay should not have been included.
I need to be 100% correct with my facts and pay calculations before I decide to push it further as although it’s hit fair I would be at the front of the P45 queue, and as it will probably also effect hundreds of employees the companies status and monies would also be reduced by a fair amount.0 -
If you google on 'furlough pay basis on maternity leave' you'll get plenty of reputable links which should help with the various maternity/post-maternity pay scenarios.0
