Halifax retention rates

We are at the point of remortgage and noticed Halifax were offering decent retention rates during lockdown but are now on the rise.

If we go via a broker it was 1.47 but has gradually risen 1.59 today ( yesterday was 1.57) our broker is too busy until next week and can seen the rates rising regularly.

I have checked some of the remortgage rates but most are with fees so do not add up financially as we only want a 2 year fix and our mortgage is 130,000 42% LTV.

Very frustrating but any other options?

get into the Halifax website and secure the retention rate. No need to wait for the broker.

Its a broker rate which I believe are not available direct which is the frustration.

I have just logged onto Halifax and they will offer the 1.59 rate but fixed for 3 or 5 years but we really would prefer 2 years due to relocating hopefully.

The 2 year no fee  rate you are looking at was 1.54, it is now 1.59%
You wont get the rate swopped until 1/11/20 earliest so you may as well wait for your Broker.
