Title deed - mortgage info

Hi guys, can someone help me with a query? Just wondering what info is held on a title deed so I'm looking at the right thing. Does the deed give details of whether a mortgage has been paid off and if so does it carry a date of when it was paid off or just the fact that it's no longer there? Also, if it does what section is it likely to be in? I did see that there is a free government website that should say if a mortgage has been discharged or not but it didn't seem to provide such info, Thanks

It might help if you explained what you're actually trying to do?
If it's a land registered property, then any current mortgages will be shown on the title after you've downloaded it. That doesn't necessarily mean it hasn't been paid off, just that the security is still registered over the property. There is no register of mortgages which no longer exist, and there is no free source of such information.0 -
I'm trying to work out if the date the mortgage has been cleared would be recorded so I can check that if the charge has been successfully removed by the bank. I guess the question is does this information get recorded anywhere or do the bank just notify the land registry the charge has been removed and that's the end of that?
I paid to download the title from the LR but it just errored and wouldn't let me open the document so I'm still non the wiser.0 -
If it's been removed then it will no longer appear on the title. If it hasn't been removed, then it will still be there.1

Ok great so I'm not looking for a specific date or amendment to the charges section, I'm just looking for it to be blank then it's done and all good.. thank you
