NHS - How long for unconditional offer?

I know the NHS can take ages in the recruitment process, but from a verbal to conditional offer and from occupational health to pre-employment checks, all went very quickly. Within a couple of weeks.
Reruitment then contacted me to give them a start date so an unconditional offer could be issued. I contacted my new manager, who had no idea who I was when I phoned her and she was the one who interviewed me 😂 seemed to have no idea who was meant to be doing what at this stage in recruitment. She gave me a provisional start date, I emailed it to recruitment and... radio silence.
I emailed them today, just to ask for any updates. How long should I leave this if I don't hear? This supposed start date is looming closer and yet you have to complete a mandatory induction before starting. I can't see me starting on the date I agreed with my manager at all at this rate.
Does receiving an unconditional offer take a long time? Should I just sit and wait?

Less than a month ago you were looking at taking a job in a private clinic, so the NHS interview can't have been that long ago. I think you probably just need to rein in your enthusiasm (and impatience) for a week or so and if they haven't replied to the e-mail you sent today, ring and see what's happening.Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!1

The interview was a month ago. It was just more about the unconditional offer. Just wondered if you tend to wait longer for that. Waiting is not too much of an issue, only that it's coming up close to the supposed start date given to me by the manager.0
