Halifax Mortgage Deed Signing

Hi hope someone can help! I am buying a new build home through the Help to buy equity loan scheme. I have had the authority to proceed and the mortgage offer from Halifax came through yesterday.
My partner is in the army and could be going away next week (poor wifi and contact). Our solicitor emailed me copies of a Halifax mortgage deed and Help to Buy deed which we have both signed and had witnessed. I will be sending these to her this week.
I always thought the lender needed the original mortgage deed signed so I am panicking! My solicitor is on holiday this week so I spoke to one of her colleagues who just said that the template will be fine for exchange, but they will need the originals signed to complete! However he said I would need to confirm this with my solicitor. Completion is likely to be end of October and he won't be back until December!
Can someone tell me if we would have to wait to complete when he gets back or if it is possible to exchange and complete with signed templates??
Thanks in advance.

So what's the problem? Do you mean that's the wrong one and there's a different deed still to be signed? If so just get your partner to sign a power of attorney so you (or somebody else) can sign on their behalf if they're not available.Keld78 said:Our solicitor emailed me copies of a Halifax mortgage deed and Help to Buy deed which we have both signed and had witnessed.0 -
Yes so basically this is just a template, it's not the official document which I'm pretty sure will need be signed and posted to Halifax for completion. There's no point doing power of attorney either as that is taking about 10 weeks at the moment apparently0
