Advice on sick pay and mortgage application

Hi there

I am currently on maternity leave and had planned to go back to work in November.  I am currently suffering with bad anxiety and have decided to postpone my return to work until January at least. My job will allow me to extend my mat leave until Feb at the latest but I will be on stat. pay for a while followed by no pay. My doctor has said I can have a sickline - which means I would return to a higher pay.  We have also just sold our house and are looking for our new one. I have a dilemma because I would like to use the sickline which would enable us to put our two year old back into childcare a few days a week and help my anxiety possibly but am worried that applying for a mortgage whilst sick will affect my mortgage application? I have never had to take time off work for sickness before. Any advice?
