So anxious about completion!

Hi all, and sorry for another anxiety ridden post.  Missives concluded on my house purchase a few weeks ago, and the date of entry is set for Wednesday (I'm in Scotland).  I understand that my solicitors have requested funds from the bank (Halifax) to come tomorrow.  I have read so many stories on here about things going wrong that I am just making myself crazy.  I am so so worried that the bank won't transfer the funds tomorrow for some reason.  My credit reports are good (although they still show my old mortgage for the flat I just sold but that was with the same lender).  The other day I had an email from Clear Score saying that a credit card had been removed from my account (it was a Tesco Credit Card that I am pretty certain I never had!).  Apart from that, there are no changes since I got my mortgage offer 5 or 6 weeks ago.

I know it seems silly, and when I say it (or type it) out loud I realise I sound silly, but I just get so anxious and over think everything because I'm pretty much always waiting for something to go wrong.  To be fair, my mortgage application and sale, and everything to do with the purchase so far, has gone pretty smoothly.  But I just can't get rid of this anxiety and I can't sleep :(

I guess my biggest concern is that they will do another credit check, and the removed credit card or the fact that my old mortgage is still showing (my flat only sold 3 weeks ago) will cause an issue...?  Can anyone put my mind at ease?  Or do I just need a hard slap!

Thank you!

Absolutely fair enough. I'll pass that on to the other half...  I'm sure he's wanted to many a time! 😂
  • You can not change anything so even if the worst is going to happen (which I really see is a 0.0000000001% chance) you have no control of it and therefore there is no point worrying! Instead of getting so worried about what ifs focus on what is. You have a confirmed mortgage offer and have agreed to move in on Wednesday! You have had no one tell you this isnt going to happen so give yourself a slap and be excited!
